Dolph Lundgren appointed Ambassador of Marbella |

The Swedish actor Dolph Lundgren has recently been appointed Ambassador of Marbella by the City Council. The actor who is best known for his role as Russian Boxer Ivan Drago in the Hollywood Blockbuster “Rocky IV” is a well known frequent visitor to Marbella and a client of UHY Fay & Co for many years.
Dolph has become a close friend of partner Bernard Fay with whom he shares his passion for Karate.
In the official appointment the Majoress, Angeles Muñoz, stated that it was “an authentic privilege to have neighbours as distinguished as Dolph Lundgren, who could choose any place to live and has decided to be with us”. “Our intention is to involve people with national and international prestige who love Marbella and feel it close to their heart as we know Dolph Lundgren does” said the mayoress.
Born in Sweden, he graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology of Stockholm. He received a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sidney and was awarded a Fullbright Scholarship to Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He has recently taken part in Sylvester Stallone’s film The Expendables, with Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Brittany Murphy, Carisma Carpenter, Eric Roberts, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. The film will be released in 2010.
The actor is currently in talks with producers for the new film “Conan”. Lundgren told this to MTV while out promoting his latest film “Command Performance”. Lundgren explained that casting was still underway, and a final decision wouldn’t be made until sometime in 2010.
